Bring the Skill of a Former District Judge and Felony Prosecutor to Your Case!
With a background as a defense attorney, former felony prosecutor, and former Texas District Judge, I have dedicated my professional career to complex criminal law trial practice. Throughout my career, I have tried hundreds of intricate felony cases before both judges and juries, and I understand that success in the courtroom comes through hard work and experience.
A sixth-generation Texan, my family has called Texas home for over 150 years. I grew up in Austin, and my father still resides on our Hays County cattle ranch, which has been in our family since the 1880s. My father’s career as a trial court judge, later followed by his 18 years of service on the 3rd Court of Appeals covering the Texas Hill Country, profoundly influenced me. He instilled in me both a passion for the law and the importance of working diligently in all aspects of life. As a Texan, I understand the value of a strong work ethic, which has been a guiding principle throughout my career as a courtroom attorney and felony District Judge. My extensive experience as a prosecutor in Williamson and Travis counties allowed me to handle many complex, high-profile felony trials.
In 2012, I was honored to be appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on a State Board offering counsel and expertise on criminal justice issues. In 2019, Governor Greg Abbott appointed me to the newly established 460th District Court, a felony criminal court in Central Texas. This role gave me the unique opportunity to preside over jury trials, rule on evidentiary matters, and experience criminal court proceedings from the perspective of a judge, enriching the depth of criminal legal knowledge I can now apply in representing my clients.
